Hotel Pangea ****

Our hotel is located in the most popular resort area of Nyíregyháza, in Blaha Lujza sétány, on the shore of Lake Sóstó. The promenade is lined with trees at both sides, and the fishing, resting and sunbathing jetties on Lake Sóstó and the water surface of the lake itself are the main landmarks of the area. These elements are echoed in the main façade of the building, with the columns supporting the balconies resembling tree trunks; the balconies in the likeness of individual jetties; and the glitter of the glass curtain wall that closes the interior space being similar to water surface.

Hotel Pangea is also an Eco-centre, as it invites its guests on a journey through the history of the earth. Our rooms are designed and decorated in a light, clean style, and each of them has been inspired by a different animal. The animals’ silhouettes are projected on the walls of the rooms, in the bathrooms and in front of the rooms.

The centrepiece of the hotel is the 13-metre Tree of Life, home to 509 living creatures. The Tree of Life symbolises the physical, spiritual and mental levels and the story of life from birth to death. The trunk of the tree is decorated with zodiac signs corresponding to the side and the season of the year. The lobby and T-Rex bar, the conference rooms and the restaurant are to be found on the ground floor, while the first floor is used for guest rooms and the indoor playroom, and the second and third floors have other various room types.

Our room rates include a generous buffet breakfast and a rich buffet dinner, and a unique feature: unlimited access to Nyíregyháza Zoo. Our guests can use the room card they receive at the check-in to enter the Sóstó Zoo during opening hours through our own gate.
