The Sóstó Lake, surrounded by an oak forest and having an area of 9.5 hectares, is located in Sóstógyógyfürdő. If you are fond of natural waters, this is your place!
In the summer season:
from Monday to Sunday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
The name of the Lake Bath (‘Salty Lake Bath’) comes from the lick flowering at its shores which was used to cook soda at the nearby soda house. Have a dip in the lake, which has been used for bathing since the 1700s. After dividing the Lake into two, the Lake Bath has been developed at the southern part, with clean sand lain onto the shore.
The wooden building which has become the emblematic entrance of the bath and resembles the bath house in Balatonfüred, was built in 1930 according to the plans of Tibor Kovács.
If you want something more than the lake’s water, try the medicinal water pool (34°C) and the children’s pool (32-34 °C) or visit the nearby Aquarius Experience and Park Bath!!
